Fine and everlasting bubbles. Golden color. Delicate nose of peach cobbler, orange peel, minerals and yeast. Full bodied with a silky texture and flavors of yeasty lemon leading to a lingering finish.

Rich nose of ripe black currant and black cherry with an initially subtle hint of cedar that increases as the wine opens. Full bodied with firm tannins and flavors of dark berries and spicy cedar along with slight notes of cocoa and a dusty, well balanced finish.

66% Cab, 21% Merlot, 11% Cab Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Intense nose of black cherry and blackberry with a hint of spice and black tea. Medium/full bodied, elegant with smooth dusty tannins and flavors of dark fruit and dark chocolate. It finishes a bit hot. Nice wine; however, given its $30 price tag, I was expecting more complexity.

Refined and elegant wine with notes of dark berries, lavender and earth; it drinks very well now, but it could age for 4-5 more years.

Faint nose of cherry liquor, dried herbs, violets and earth. Light bodied with a subtle palate of dried cherry, minerals and earth. This is a nicely matured Montagne-Saint-Emilion, but I wish it had more fruit left. The alcohol feels a bit high, there is still a good acidity, but the tannins are pretty soft and I doubt it will age any longer.

rckr1951 Interesting review and final thoughts - I've a 1997 Bordeaux I was thinking that it's time is now also. Maybe next weekend to celebrate.

2009 release. 75% Pinot Noir, 22% Syrah, 3% Viognier. Spicy nose. Sandalwood and floral. Not a lot of red fruit, but quite aromatic. Medium bodied with round tannins and low acidity. Red cherry and spice flavors with a touch of oak. The Viognier adds a sensation hard to explain to the palate, something perfumed, like white flowers, but it doesn't feel well integrated with the flavors of the red grape varieties.

rckr1951 I find that in Syraz/Viognier I like it better with at least a 5% blend of V. Your right in that at lower levels it doesn't really do much.

2009 release. 57% Cab, 15% Nebbiolo, 28% Syrah. Intense nose of ripe black cherry, spices and cedar. Full bodied with firm tannins and blackberry attack. Nice spiciness and blueberry flavors on the mid palate. Solid finish showing notes of oak and chocolate.

One of my fav grape varieties. Beautiful earthy nose with notes of crushed blackberry and a hints of oak. On the palate the dark fruit is upfront and it is quite intense. There is a green herbal element that adds freshness to it. The tannins are soft and the finish lingers with a nice spicy oakiness.

The citrus fruit and raw honey on the nose follow to the palate, where they are joined by flavors of pear. The honey element is a bit overbearing and provides some sweetness, but instead of being balanced by the crisp acidity of this wine, it makes it finish a little bitter (retail $17.99)

rckr1951 Seems as though this is the same review as the '08. Maybe clicked on the wrong tab?
há 542 dias

botto Paul, there is some issue with the Database. This is the review for the 09. The one for the 08 has been inadvertently deleted. I have already emailed André. Something similar happened with your 07 Cline, as apparently your first review is no longer on Adegga, and your updated review shows the comment of the old one.

rckr1951 I've noticed some of these issues also. There are a couple of reviews that have vaporized into the ethernet.

rckr1951 Man Nico, this sounds really good and this review really has my interest peeked. I would have been surprised by the color also. This and AD's review have been good for the learning curve. This wine stuff is surely educational on a daily basis.
