From the Landmark Tutorial Day 2 (Sept 21st 2010, Yarra Valley), ‘The Great Australian Blend’ with Charlie Melton. Appearance: medium ruby, marked orange rim.
Nose: somewhat vegetal complex nose with tea, leather, myriad spices, mellowed oak aromas.
Palate: sweeter fruit on palate indicating originally ripe fruit now mellowing into other secondary flavours with lively medium acidity (which seems higher than it is with age), softened but coating high tannins. Lots of structure, lots of length.
Conclusion: very good indeed. This is not to be confused with Wynns' John Riddoch (another extremely good Coonawarra wine).
