Clear brilliant cranberry red in color with dark notes of red meat, black cherry, chocolate and mint. Although, the alcohol is a little overwhelming in the beginning, I assume this will blow off in time. In the mouth, the tannins are incredibly fine but noticeable, gently wrapping around my tongue and lips. Great acidity and good structure, the wine is very well integrated. Big, bold cherry flavors first wash over me on my first sip, followed by subtle ripples of spicy black pepper and mineral flavors. This is a great wine, intense and graceful, and would pair beautifully with food.
